Crans-Montana Celebrates Swiss National Day in Style – July 31 & August 1, 2025

August 1st is a key date on the Swiss calendar, and Crans-Montana is determined to celebrate it in fitting fashion. With Alpine traditions, music, shows, and a welcoming spirit, this resort in the canton of Valais is offering an exceptional two-day program on Thursday, July 31 and Friday, August 1, 2025. It’s the perfect opportunity to immerse yourself in the Swiss spirit while enjoying the fresh mountain air.

Two Days of Celebration in the Heart of the Alps

Crans-Montana becomes an open-air stage, blending cultural heritage with festive entertainment. From Avenue de la Gare to Lake Grenon, including the surrounding villages and mountain pastures, the atmosphere promises to be both family-friendly and spectacular.

Thursday, July 31: A Festive Appetizer

From the morning, a local market sets up in Ycoor, while brass bands, parades, and concerts take over Crans’ town center. Children are well catered for, with creative workshops and a visit from Bibi the marmot, the resort’s beloved mascot.

The evening will be lively, with a concert by YMOM, followed by an electro-violin set by DJ Bartélémy Deslarzes. To top it off, the Gardens of Ycoor will light up for “La Symphonie des Eaux”, a magical musical and light show.

Friday, August 1: Tradition and Spectacle

The national day begins at dawn with the traditional "Diane" wake-up music. From 9 a.m., alphorn players, flag throwers, and folkloric parades highlight the rich traditions of Valais. The town center bursts to life with folk dances, brass bands, and delicious food stalls.

In the evening, after the official speech by Valais State Councillor Stéphane Ganzer and a lantern parade, the festivities culminate with a laser and fountain show on Lake Grenon, set to the electro rhythms of TIKOM—a magical, free event for all.

A Celebration Across the Villages

The surrounding villages are also part of the celebration. In Montana-Village, Lens, Mollens, and even at the Corbyre alpine pasture, the festivities continue in a more intimate, yet just as authentic, atmosphere. Traditional meals, concerts, mountain brunches, and local activities complete the experience.

Free Shuttles and Eco-Friendly Transport

To make it easy to move between celebration sites, free shuttle buses will operate on the evening of August 1 between Aminona and Crans-Montana. A practical and eco-friendly way to enjoy the event in total peace of mind.

Crans-Montana: Where Tradition Meets Modernity

With its perfect blend of folk culture, modern shows, and entertainment for all ages, Crans-Montana confirms its status as a must-visit destination for Swiss National Day.
